As a proud three-time sponsor of the MISA (Municipal Information Systems Association) BC Conference, Xplor Recreation has “Dreamt IT” and “Built IT” at past conferences. This year, it was time to Do IT and explore what it takes to make IT happen and move our vision forward together in areas such as framework, people, tools, and technology.
Steps away from the picturesque downtown harbour, the 4-day conference brought 350+ delegates to the Victoria Conference Centre on Vancouver Island to share strategies and successes around smart cities, digital identity, emergency response, innovative websites, parks and recreation management, and more.
As the oldest city in the Pacific Northwest, Victoria offered an abundance of historic attractions and outdoor activities for delegates to enjoy between conference sessions, from the Parliament Buildings, Royal British Columbia Museum, and Craigdarroch Castle, to world-class whale watching, kayaking, fishing, and sailing.
Xplor Recreation Enterprise Sales Manager, Garrett Ungaro, was thrilled to see the many familiar faces at this year’s event, including our recent partners: the City of Richmond, City of Surrey, District of Mission, and City of Prince George. The MISA Conference also proved to be a wonderful occasion to connect with delegates from the City of Whitehorse, Yukon and the City of Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
