Springing Forward at CPRS 2017

Under fresh California skies in downtown Sacramento, the Xplor Recreation team got an advanced tasting of sunshine and warmer temperatures this season.

We attended as speakers and exhibitors at the 2017 California Parks and Recreation Society Conference and Expo. Hosted in California’s capital at the Sacramento Convention Center Complex, the team had happily anticipated the 1,500-attendee event, ready to connect with the industry’s leading organizations and explore the latest innovations alongside other inspiring professionals.

This year’s 4-day event was a colorful spread of special events, education sessions, keynotes, socials, demonstrations, reception banquets and awards. Intensives dove deep into topics across park development, youth sports administration, career development, smartphone applications in parks and recreation, resource governance, behavior management techniques, and more. The passionate energy was palpable left and right with exchanges happening between exhibitors and attendees steadily throughout each day.

Xplor Recreation was honored to present its first CPRS speaking session on Thursday with Vahid Shababi, Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Business Development, discussing workflow automation and demonstrating its effects on improving customer experiences while increasing efficiency. Attendees got to take a closer look at how our platform’s workflow engine translates into reduced administration errors and saved time for staff and customers alike. Joining Vahid, Los Gatos Saratoga Recreation and City of Fontana panelists shared their own Xplor Recreation experiences. Great questions were raised by audience members generating some very specific and insightful discussions.

At our exhibition booth and inside the demo room at the Hyatt, our account executive, Saeid Safarmehdi, was fully engaged with attendees keen to explore Xplor Recreation’s features. The level of interest in the platform’s capabilities was incredibly exciting for the team. Amidst the bustle, we also had the opportunity to catch up in person with many clients. Some of the cities we touched base with included Los Gatos, the City of Brentwood, the City of Fontana, and Santa Rosa.

Congratulations on your new Apple TV, Brian Simpson, Manager, Facilities and Grounds of Auburn Area Recreation and Park District! You are the lucky winner of our draw.

We applaud the entire exhibit, conference, program and staff committees along with the entire CPRS team and attendees for a spectacularly run conference and expo! Thank you for organizing an exceptional event with so many enjoyable activities and opportunities. We’re already looking forward to CPRS 2018 in Long Beach!
